Minister of Evangelism and Adults/Seniors -
Marian Soderberg
Marian
Soderbergy graduated from PLU with a degree in education. Later she
earned a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from the University
of Oregon. She held teaching and counseling positions in Beaverton,
Astoria and Warrenton, Oregon. She also worked as a caseworker and
adoption specialist for the State of Oregon.
At
First Lutheran Church Marian welcomes new members and assists them in
networking and finding places of service in the congregation. Be sure

Music Director - Laurie Drage
As
Music Director of First Lutheran Church, Laurie Drage oversees the
congregational music, adult choir, bell choir and general music
acitivities of the church. Laurie's musical expertise is well known
throughout the Pacific Coast area, she is an accomplished musician in
addition to her service at First Lutheran Church. Laurie Drage earned a
Bachelor of Music degree in Performing from Pacific Lutheran University
and a Masters of Music from Western Washington University, Bellingham,
Washington. Originally from Tacoma, Washington, she moved to
Warrenton in 1981 and has been involved in the music at First Lutheran
since 1982 as organist, choir director and pianist. For more

Keith
and Genny Butenshon serve as Youth Ministers at First Lutheran Church.

Immanuel Preschool Teacher - Kara Takalo
Kara
Takalo is the preschool teacher at Immanuel Community Preschool, a
cooperative Christian Preschool, located in Knappa, Oregon, that offers
classes for three and four-year olds from September through May.
Four-year-olds attend on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 until
11:00 or 11:30 until 2:00pm. Cost is $75/month.
Three-year-old classes are on Tuesday
and Thursday from 8:30 until 11:00. Cost is $50/month. Children
attending the preschool experience Bible stories and songs, academic
skills, art, science, food preparation, role playing and drama, field
trips, music,

Parish Nurses - Jo Black & Laurie Choate
Jo
Black and Laurie Choate (pictured here) are currently serving as the
Parish Nurses at First Lutheran Church. The Health Ministry with a
Parish Nurse and other nurses form a health cabinet to provide monthly
blood pressure screening for everyone following both services. Phone

Church Sexton - River Stahley
A position os Sexton was started in August 2009. This positoin combines
the Staff Assistant and custodial services postions. Currently the
positoin is filled by River Stahley.
